Imagine my surprise when we arrived home from our trip to be greeted by a cold front here in the states. It’s the first week of spring, and I just left gorgeous 80-degree weather in Mexico only to have to turn on the heater and add blankets back onto the bed.

At least we’ll get our warmer weather back later this week. Time to indulge in some dreamy Spring fashion!

February is classically when our attention turns to all things pink. But instead I’m crushing on something that’s a slightly paler shade, somewhere between peach and rose.

Pinch those cheeks and read on for more blushing beauty…

Fred and I got married eight years ago. I’ll spare you the “I married my best friend” and “I remember it like it was yesterday” business and just level with you: I’m lucky as hell.

Every time our relationship comes up in conversation lately I end up fully admitting that we lucked out. I somehow knew he was the only one for me very early on in our relationship (as in, less than two months into it), at the stupid-young age of 23. By all accounts this should have failed miserably, right? We should have grown up some more and changed fundamentally somehow and then we should have grown apart.

But that didn’t happen. And it shows no sign of happening.

I’m always a little late to the party when it comes to fall fashion. For one thing, living in Houston means it’s summertime-hot until after Halloween, so even the thought of sweaters makes me break a sweat.

But the slight chill in the air we’ve had in the past few days has me thinking fond thoughts about layering and tweedy fabrics. Read on for my top picks for Fall 2015, and how to emulate them yourself!

All Hallows Eve is approaching! The air is thick with dark spirits. Maybe also you’re feeling the onset of seasonal depression as the days grow shorter, and the stress of the holidays begins to wear on you. Either way, October is the perfect time to chase spirits and negative energy from your home and hearth with these sage and cedar smudge sticks. Read on for how to make your own set!

My friends would probably tell you that I’m the least spontaneous person ever. I certainly relish my to-do lists, jot things down in my notebook frequently and do my research. So with my trip to Paris coming up next week, of course I’ve been putting a lot of thought into what to bring with me.

Fred’s schedule has been matching mine lately, which is rare. He works in theatre, which means his work schedule is generally the exact opposite of mine. We’re not even ships passing in the night — sometimes there’s no passing at all.

So since he’s been working 9-6 on weekdays lately we felt like we shouldn’t waste the opportunity to take a weekend trip to Austin. Even though it’s changed a lot since I lived there, it will always have a piece of my heart.
